Vehicle Based Skills
Vehicles and fuel are still around, but unless you are playing a high-tech game there is very little chance that PCs will use these abilities.
Boats without holes are rare, water is rarer, and fuel is almost non-existent.
Land based vehicles aren’t as rare as boats, but good luck finding fuel…
Maybe one day you dream of piloting Bear Force One and taking the President of the NCR from stop to stop. Sure, and while you’re at it why don’t you fly me to the moon.
The following Knowledge Skills are added to the basic Skill list.
Knowledge (Chems) (SMA)
You know how to create Chems. Streetwise is used to find buyers and to find materials.
Knowledge (Explosives) (SMA)
You know how to build, detonate and disarm explosives. If a character has the Jack of all Trades Edge they can roll this unskilled without the -2 penalty.
Knowledge (Science) (SMA)
The Knowledge (Science) skill is used program and reprogram robots. It is also used to hack into password protected computers. Finding anything in that computer is a different matter and uses the Investigation skill. If a character has the Jack of all Trades Edge they can roll this unskilled without the -2 penalty.
Persuasion is used just like it is described in Savage Worlds Deluxe. In SW Fallout it is also used to barter with merchants.
The Repair skill is used to fix everything with the exception of robots.
SW Fallout uses the the Skill Specialization Situational Rule on page 95 of Savage Worlds Deluxe. The Shooting Skill is separated into the Energy Weapon, Firearm and Big Gun skills.
Energy Weapon (AGI)
The Energy Weapon skill is used for any weapon that uses Energy Cells (Small Energy Cells and Micro Fusion Cells).
The Firearm skill is used for any weapon that uses Ammunition (.22, shotgun shells, etc.).
Big Gun (AGI)
The Big Gun skill is used for any weapon that uses Ordinance (40mm shells, rockets, flamer packs, etc.).
Streetwise is used to find buyers and sellers of specialty goods and chems. A 1 on a Streetwise skill die regardless of Wild Die means that you have asked the local sheriff, were directed to the sheriff, or the sheriff is notified. The Streetwise skill otherwise works as described in Savage Worlds Deluxe.
The Survival skill is used to locate and identify edible plants, animals and insects in the wastes. Survival is also used to create useful consumables from things found in the wastes. Used to toss explosives. No matter how high your Knowledge (Explosives) skill is, if it needs to be thrown, the Throwing skill is used. The Throwing skill otherwise works as described in Savage Worlds Deluxe.
